WhatsApp Status is photo, video, text and gif shared by Whatsapp users which disappears after 24 hours. It’s similar to Instagram stories. Many users of Whatsapp now use this cool feature to keep their friends updated on latest events, their day-to-day activities and other posts. Some of us use it occasionally while some can’t go a day without updating their Whatsapp status. You will agree with me that it’s always fun viewing status of others. The more you swipe, the more you see photos, videos, text and gifs posted by others. Everyday, there are new statuses so you never get bored. However, to see someone’s status updates, you and them must have each other contacts saved in your phone. When you post a status, you will see stats displaying all people that viewed it. The same thing happens when your friends posts status and you view it, they will see that you viewed it. But what if you don’t want them to know that you viewed their status? How to View Someone’s Whatsapp Status Without Them Knowing
The process is simple but comes at a cost which you will know later in this post. Follow these steps;

Open your WhatsApp and click on the three dotted lines as shown in the image below.

Now disable “read receipt” by toggling the button.

Disadvantages of Using This Method
You won’t be able to see who viewed your status when you post yours. 😃 You won’t be able to see the double green read receipt when people read your chat ✔️. You will only see the gray ✅ sign.
Another Method Of Viewing People’s Whatsapp Status Without Letting Them Know
This method involves going to your phone storage to view people’s status instead of through Whatsapp application. Whatsapp secretly stores all statuses in a hidden folder in your phone storage. To do this, follow these steps:
Open phone storage Click on Whatsapp Click on media Click on three dotted icon Click show hidden files Now click on .statuses You will be able to view all status updates of your friends in the past 24 hours.

Disadvantages of This Method
You won’t know who uploaded which status. All status are listed with no contact name. It’s a long process each time you want to view people’s status
Conclusion
So which method is the best? For me, the second method is best because I can see read receipts when I chat. I can also see who viewed my status but they won’t know when I view theirs via phone storage.
